Overview
This project involved a compact FPC assembly for a camera-related module. The assembled board had to fit within a space-limited product while keeping the camera area and flexible tail in good condition.
Manufacturing Challenge
FPC materials can bend, lift, or shift when processed like standard rigid boards. Poor handling could affect component alignment, connector direction, surface condition, or the fit of the module during final assembly.
Manufacturing Approach
We reviewed the FPC shape, pad layout, connector orientation, and packing requirements before production. The circuit was kept flat during SMT placement, while sensitive camera-side areas were protected from unnecessary pressure and surface damage.
Inspection covered solder joints, component alignment, connector position, and the condition of the flexible tail.
Result
The finished camera module FPC assemblies were delivered as ready-to-integrate components, allowing the customer to continue with product assembly without board-side rework.
