Flexible PCB Assembly for Compact USB Electronics

Overview

A customer required a compact flexible PCB assembly for a USB connector area. The FPC tail, connector, and small SMT components were positioned close together, making accurate handling and assembly essential.

Manufacturing Challenge

Unlike a rigid PCB, the flexible circuit had to remain flat and stable during solder paste printing, component placement, and inspection. Connector alignment and solder paste volume also required close control because this area could experience mechanical stress during use.

Manufacturing Approach

Before production, we reviewed the Gerber files, BOM, placement data, and connector footprint. Controlled SMT assembly was followed by focused inspection of the connector seating, solder joints, and flexible areas.

Result

The completed FPC assemblies were delivered ready for the customer’s next product integration stage, without additional board-level rework.
