Overview

An industrial equipment customer required an FR4 control board containing ICs, passive components, terminal blocks, and through-hole connectors. The combination of component types required a mixed PCB assembly process.

Manufacturing Challenge

The board had to meet both electrical assembly and mechanical installation requirements. Connector direction, terminal seating, solder quality, and component alignment could all affect wiring and final equipment assembly.

Manufacturing Approach

We reviewed the PCB files, BOM, component packages, and connector layout before production. SMT components were assembled first, followed by through-hole components using automatic or manual processing where appropriate.

AOI covered standard SMT areas, while visual inspection focused on solder joints, terminal blocks, connector seating, board cleanliness, and overall assembly condition.

Result

The completed industrial control PCB assemblies were delivered ready for installation in the customer’s equipment.
